Dear APS Customer, We want to make you aware of an upcoming change to the way post-dispatch notifications are delivered for burglar alarm activations. As technology continues to evolve - bringing advancements in automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and analytics, APS is enhancing its dispatch operations to improve efficiency and customer experience. Historically, APS has relied on phone calls to notify customers after dispatching Fire, EMS, Police, or Guard services. However, with the rise in SPAM calls, many individuals are choosing not to answer unknown numbers, resulting in delayed notifications.
APS will be updating its Standard Dispatch Operating Procedure (SOP) effective October 20, 2026. Between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, when an alarm cannot be canceled and authorities are dispatched, the follow-up notification will be sent by automated text message to all eligible cell-phone contacts. Contacts who cannot receive text messages will receive an automated voice call. Please be assured that the alarm verification and authority-dispatch process is not changing. This update only changes how you are notified after authorities have been dispatched during these hours. Between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, live notification calls will continue as they do today.
To help ensure you receive these notifications, please make sure APS has current contact names and phone numbers for your account. If any information needs to be updated or you have questions, please contact our office at (504) 455-5277 and press 3 for an operator. Also, please make sure you have saved APS's contact information in your phone: APS Office: 504-455-5277 APS Monitoring Station: 504-456-2013 Thank you for trusting Alarm Protection Services. We appreciate the opportunity to help protect your home or business. Sincerely, Alarm Protection Services |
